About Groomingtails

I have been privileged  enough to be around dogs all my life and i am now the proud owner of Cassie the Border Collie, Olive the Lhasa Apso and not forgetting Oscar and Mildred my two very spoilt cats. Olive likes to come to work with me so will often be found snoozing in the salon.

In 2015 I qualified at Bishop Burton College in City and Guilds Level 2 in dog grooming assistants and then  went on to qualify with distinction in level 3 city and guilds introduction in to  dog grooming in sept 2016. Level three not only teaches  how to groom a dog to either breed standard or pet trims, it also teaches the importance of health checking every dog we groom and how to assess a dogs temperament and deal with each dog on an individual basis.

I am fully insured and hold a pet first aid certificate and keep a pet first aid kit in the salon.

At Groomingtails it is important to me your dog gets my one to one pampering services with limited distractions so I operate on a one in one out system. For example if your dog’s appointment is for 2 hours at 10.30am then your collection time will be 12.30pm.

If you happen to be slightly late for pick up your dog can wander around or chill in one of the beds whist waiting for you in a secure area. Dogs are not kept in cages.

I recommend all dogs to have regular grooms to keep your dog’s coat and skin in good condition. Grooming your dog in between grooms will enable your dog to keep a matt free coat.

I use Wildwash shampoo, conditioner, de tangler, paw balm and colognes because I believe that what we put on our dogs fur matters, if our hair is ‘worth it ‘then our dogs fur is too.

Wildwash is a chemical free product made in England from 100% essential oils from natural products leaving the coat feeling luxuriously soft and glossy. It is vet approved and has not been used in any animal testing which is very important to me.
